Casey looks for offers
Syracuse does not lose much depth on the defensive line this year, but with that being said in 2013 the Orange will look to solidify the line. One defensive tackle prospect the Orange already have eyes on is Cullen Casey of Rochester (N.Y.) Mcquaid Jesuit School.
"Syracuse came in earlier in the season I haven't talked to them in about a couple weeks, Tyrone Wheatley had asked for my game tapes from my coach during the early parts of the season.
With the mutual interest between the two schools right now the 6-foot-4, 270 pound prospect talked about what exactly he likes about the Orange.
"Syracuse is a great school and has a very talented football program. I would say they are the best school closest to me."
Have the Orange talked about an offer yet?
"There has been no talk about an offer. Coach Wheatley told my coach he liked me and I had potential."
If an offer does come in for Casey he will already have a good idea of what Syracuse has to offer because he has been on campus many times already.
"I have been there numerous times for many events such as basketball, football and high school games. I also went to a one day Syracuse football camp," Casey said. "I thought facilities were nice and the weight room was state of the art."
Since the school is so close to where Casey has grown up a Syracuse offer would be an honor to receive.
"A Syracuse offer would mean a lot to me. Syracuse is right in my back yard and would love to receive an offer from my state's number one football school."
Casey has been no stranger to the Orange's ups and downs on the field, but he thinks everything is going well now.
"I have been really impressed how Coach Marrone has turned around the football program."
Besides Syracuse there are a few other schools already looking at the Empire State prospect.
"Rutgers, Duke, Buffalo, and Old Dominion are looking at me," Casey stated. I took an unofficial last week to see Rutgers play South Florida and this week I am going to see Duke play Georgia Tech."
Buffalo and Old Dominion could be ready to offer soon according to Casey.
