Falah leaves room to change mind

MORE: U.S. Army All-American Bowl

SAN ANTONIO -- After his official visit to Washington, it looked like the Huskies made a big impression on Nico Falah and that a switch from USC was possible.

At the U.S. Army All-American Bowl registration on Sunday, Falah talked more like he was solid to USC.

"I like Washington a lot, but I wanted some time to go and I'll take my visit to USC and I'll go from there," Falah said. "I'm most likely going to USC, though.

"It's an option, it could happen, but honestly I don't think it's going to happen. I see the name of USC and the power those three letters have. I'm looking forward to going there and I can shine there."

Washington did make a big impression on the Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star offensive tackle and cannot be counted out.

Big for Falah was the idea that he was a "need" and not a "want" at Washington and early playing time could be a real possibility.

But it might not be enough for the 6-foot-4, 267-pound recruit to change his mind.

"It opened my eyes," Falah said of his Washington trip. "It wasn't just a hangover feeling. It lasted a long time and I wanted to digest it. I wanted to see how my parents felt about it and I wanted to go from there."

Falah takes his official visit to USC in January. It might finalize his decision.

"It's big," Falah said. "It's the last thing I'll see. Even though I live five minutes from there, they can show me all the things they have and we'll go from there."
