Lawrenceville (GA) Central Gwinnett
6-foot, 161 pounds
Rankings: Three-star (5.5).
Other offers: Prior to committing to the Cavaliers in October following his official visit, Latimore had offers from Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
How he chose UVa: A somewhat off the radar recruit at the time, Latimore took an official visit to Charlottesville and quickly became the 10th member of the class at the time.
Though he didn't think he would commit, Latimore liked the mix of academics and comfort that he saw when he was in town and rather than waiting to make a decision.
Why he matters: Teams can rarely have too much size and speed in the secondary and though Latimore is a little light in terms of weight, he's got a good frame to add some bulk without losing speed.
Though UVa isn't set to lose a contributor in the defensive backfield following the 2013 season, guys like Latimore, especially from out of state, are solid gets. He has very good coverage skills, isn't afraid to come up and hit, and he's got the speed and size to stay with a wide range of receiver types. He'll need to improve his technique in what will almost certainly be a redshirt year as a freshman.
