Three-star LB Harrison says he loves the way he'll fit with the Hoos

Over several days this past weekend, UVa pulled in eight commitments over the course of roughly 78 hours. Some of the players in that group were guys that had come to town expecting to commit while others were players who had been recruited heavily by UVa going into a visit.

But for a couple of them, like three-star linebacker T.C. Harrison, the offer from the Cavaliers came following their performances at camp. And in the case of the Suwanee (GA) Collins Hill standout, he jumped all over it.

"Virginia offered me at camp and I committed on the spot," Harrison told Rivals.com's Chad Simmons. "Virginia is a world class academic school, which was a major factor in my decision."

With previous offers from Stetson, Mercer, UT Chattanooga, Gardner Webb, New Hampshire, Marshall, and Valdosta State the 6-foot-3, 201 pounder says he loved the way he saw himself in what Bronco Mendenhall and the Cavaliers do on defense.

"I also fit into their defensive scheme," Harrison said, "which is very similar to the one we run in high school."

Mendenhall and his assistant coaches also impressed the Peach State standout while he was on Grounds.

"One last reason I committed was because the coaching staff immediately made me feel like family," Harrison added. "They want me to play SAM backer, which is basically their boundary linebacker."

Harrison joins a deep and talented group of linebackers in Virginia's 2018 class, joining fellow backers Noah Taylor, Javar Garrett, and Case Gatlin.
