Texas Tech has landed the commitment of Charlotte cornerback Dontae Balfour, a highly touted player who has one season of eligibility remaining.
Balfour stands in a 6-foot-2, 180 pounds and possesses very strong length and athleticism for the position
Balfour is a two-year starter for the 49ers after starting his collegiate career at North Carolina, playing sparingly as a four-star freshman in Chapel Hill.
Over the past two seasons, Balfour has been a quality corner in the American Conference, earning pre-season All-Conference honors this season.
In his career, Balfour has been targeted 118 times and has allowed a 55.1-percent reception rate while logging 16 pass breakups and three interceptions.
Balfour possessed strong run defense grades this season, showing a great willingness to tackle with over 100 for his career at Charlotte.
